"I’m a former middle and high school social studies teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in History and a minor in Political Science. I currently completing my post-baccalaureate teaching licensure through East Carolina University and have classroom experience teaching students from grades 6 through 12. My teaching experience includes U.S. History, World History, Civics, and Geography, as well as integrating reading comprehension, writing skills, and critical thinking into each subject. I’ve also worked one-on-one with students to help them overcome academic challenges, develop study strategies, and build confidence in their learning.
My approach is grounded in clarity, patience, and making learning feel engaging and manageable. I know how overwhelming school can be at times, so I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking ownership of their progress. I focus on helping students connect with the material in ways that make sense to them—whether that’s through breaking down a dense text, outlining an essay, reviewing vocabulary, or preparing for a test. My goal is always to meet students where they are and help them move forward.
Outside the classroom, I’m a passionate lifelong learner with a deep love for history, storytelling, and education. I’m also well-versed in travel, cultural studies, and educational content creation, which helps me bring real-world context into sessions. I look forward to helping students succeed not just in their schoolwork, but in building the skills they need to grow with confidence." less...
