"As a tutor I prefer students who play a part in their studies and have an understanding of areas they have difficulties within the lesson content. It is important for my students to understand the process of how we arrive at a solution and not the answer it self. My goal is to work with my students one on one and make clear misunderstood areas.

That said, I majored in education at the graduate level and specialized in curriculum and instructional technology. Besides mathematics I also specialize in writing papers and teaching English as a second language. As your tutor, I will work with you by concentrating on your areas of difficulty and if you prefer, we can work ahead of your classroom syllabus to prepare for upcoming classroom lessons.

As your elementary math tutor, I will take the time to test you and understand the level at which you currently function. This is not a bad thing. My goal is not to understand how smart you are, rather, to highlight specific areas that might be of difficulty and areas of weakness that need strengthening.
