In the course of writing everything from travel guidebooks to poetry to political campaign statements to PR copy, I've come to understand the drafting and editing process intimately. I've led workshops, assisted dissertations, and guided dozens of college applicants to acceptances at Harvard, Stanford, Brown, Penn, Dartmouth, MIT-Sloan, UPitt's 8-year medical program, London School of Economics, NYU, and UCal Berkeley.

In high school, I was named a National Student Poet by the Library of Congress and traveled around the US giving readings and advocating for creative writing (and got to meet the Obamas!). After four years at Harvard, I moved to New York City, where I play write and make music.

This quote is expressed in hourly increments, per Wyzant’s billing system, but it is more accurately seen as a combination of cost per word + an estimate of how much work the writing needs (anything from from deep reworking to a cursory grammar check).

Therefore, please think of my estimate in terms of a ***dollar amount*** and not in terms of a number of hours; my estimate is not necessarily equivalent to the exact time I will spend on the proofread. That said, be assured that I will not skimp on delivering the best possible piece of writing!
