I was a National Merit Semi-Finalist and graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities summa cum laude. I've always had a knack for standardized tests, scoring 1480 (out of 1600) and 32 on the SAT and ACT, respectively, on my first and only attempts on those tests. Those scores also reflect my current attitude and approach when working with students: I want to see you excel and improve, but I believe we all perform best when we are not put under unnecessary pressure. I like allowing room for human error while working to steadily improve your personal best score.

I've worked with a private tutoring company for the last 2 1/2 years, working with over 50 high school students one-on-one to improve their SAT & ACT scores through a structured program. I currently specialize in all components of the ACT and am particularly strong at taking those with a starting score in the 25 range to a final score in the 28-30 range.

I really enjoy helping high school students along this part of their journey. It's an exciting time to pave the way to pursue your interests on the next level, and I love helping open doors with successful test scores. I love meeting students where they are, catering to their strengths, and figuring out what tips, tricks and approaches will serve them best as unique individuals and strategically help them improve their scores. Additionally, I pride myself on bringing my sense of humor to the process and making it as painless as possible. I don't think that most people enjoy standardized tests (I realize I'm in the minority), but they are a means to an end! Along the way, though, we can try to enjoy the journey of reaching that end. And acknowledge and cheer on the little victories that will all add up to big score improvement ultimately.
