"Hi! I'm Brendon! I am a senior at the Georgia Institute of Technology with a major in Materials Science and Engineering and a minor in French. I have been on the Dean's List every semester, and I am on track to graduate with highest honors in December 2020. I have been a teaching assistant with the Georgia Tech Math Department for three years, teaching classes in Differential Calculus, Survey of Calculus, and Multivariable Calculus. I love working with students and helping them understand difficult concepts in a fun and unique way. As a teaching assistant, I am used to teaching math concepts in a variety of ways, especially when students don't get the professor's way of teaching. I am also used to working with students in a smaller environment when they come to me during my office hours. I particularly enjoy this smaller learning environment because I am really able to focus in on a specific student's strengths and weaknesses and adjust my teaching technique accordingly.
While I am specialized in teaching Calculus, I am able to tutor in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry as well, as these courses are extremely important prerequisites to mastering Calculus. Additionally, I have experience tutoring peers in these subjects while I was in high school.
I am also able to tutor students in French, up to an advanced level. I am fluent in French, and I completed my French minor at Georgia Tech last year. During my time at Tech, I was able to study abroad twice in France, allowing me to have close to a year's experience interacting with French locals and understanding their culture first-hand. I specifically love helping students in their pronunciation through my knowledge in French phonetics.
I am committed to helping the students I work with accomplish their goals and be prepared for the more advanced classes they will take in the future. Please reach out to me if you have any questions, and I will respond promptly. I look forward to working with you!" less...
