"Hello everyone! I'm Julie. I'm a NYC-based professional tutor, specializing in test prep, math instruction, and reading comprehension.

For the past 6 years, I have helped students excel in their math courses and achieve higher scores than they had previously thought possible on the SAT, ACT, GRE and GMAT. I see test prep as an opportunity for intellectual growth and my work as a teacher as fundamentally about empowering my students.

My background:

I was handpicked and trained by the owner of a major Manhattan test prep company to teach math and tutor the SAT. For this company, I have taught SAT classes at Chapin', St Anns School, Packer, and Grace Church in NYC. Currently, I am developing a math app for the company website that will focus on number fluency and mental math.

A bit more about me:

With two mathematicians for parents, I learned to embrace numbers and critical thinking at a young age. I grew up enjoying math games and logic puzzles and bring this excitement and energy to my work as a teacher. I started tutoring Calculus when I was 16 years old and have since then taught a wide variety of subjects to students of all ages and backgrounds.

I have a Bachelor's degree from Harvard University in studio art and art history and have a painting studio in Gowanus. I love breaking stereotypes and showing my students that making art does not mean you have to dislike math!" less...
