I have a bachelor's degree from SUNY Geneseo in Childhood Education and a Master's degree from St. John Fisher in Literacy Education. I am certified to teach general education, grades first through sixth and Literacy Education, ages birth through sixth grade.

Aside from my credentials, I am sure you are wondering more about my teaching or tutoring style/experience. First and foremost, I have chosen to pursue a career in education because I have a huge desire to help students succeed. Nothing is more rewarding to me than to assist a student succeed. To detail my technique, I enjoy working with a student-centered approach to learning. To me, I like to learn with my students, not dictate above them. Along with using a student-centered teaching approach, I also take pride in my ability to differentiate or tailor lessons to the needs/interests of my students. For instance, I recently tutored a struggling 4th grader with reading. He enjoyed frogs and sharks. In response to his interest, all of my personally created or borrowed learning materials were either frog or shark related. In response, this student showed huge advances in their learning level and really enjoyed the materials I provided because he was able to show interest in his learning. I also pride myself in being creative which I use to make sure each lesson is fun and personalized. Lastly, I advocate greatly for technology. I believe it is the tool to success in our future. Students need to learn skills now to assist them with the skills that will be needed in their future work place. For this reason, I do everything in my power to bring technology into lessons.
