"Hello, my name is Brandon. I am currently pursuing my associates degree in political science at Columbus State Community College. I plan on eventually transferring to another college in Ohio to get my bachelors in political science.

While I do not have any formal experience tutoring people, I tutored my family and friends while I was in high school. It was a one on one kind of tutoring, allowing for much better communication with my students. More specifically I would explain the concept they were struggling with and I would help them through some example problems. I tutored a variety of subjects from social studies, chemistry, algebra etc. The best part of not only tutoring but helping people in general is definitely seeing them achieving their goals.

I generally teach by giving a thorough review of the content that the student wants to be taught on, I then use increasingly difficult problems to check for proficiency in the subject. If a student gets a problem wrong and does not understand why, I go through step by step so they can discover not only what they got wrong; but also what they can do for future problems.

Some of my scores include a four on the AP US history and AB calculus exams, as well as a three on the AP US government exam. I got a 27 on the ACT. I got a 3.7 GPA in high school and have a 4.0 GPA at Columbus State.

History has always been a passion of mine. For me history has a way to present solutions to some modern issues. I also believe that history is a way to see large scale patterns that are very applicable to our own lives. Connecting the past to the present was a useful skill that I learned that allowed me to win two class rewards in social studies in high school, as well as give me a better understanding of the modern world.

I am vaccinated for the students or parents that worry about that and I can bring proof if need be. I work to be flexible to each individual's needs so if you want to be taught in a specific way, I will find a way to accommodate that." less...
