"I studied biology at the State University of NY at Albany and began my career after college working for a biological supply company in Massachusetts preparing specimens for biology classrooms. I have worked for the NYS Museum as a research scientist studying invasive species such as the zebra mussel and now run an organization that specializes in raptors. I have always had an interest in biology and the study of birds in particular. The best professors I ever had were able to engage their students and bring the subject they were teaching to life. This is something that I strive to do every time I get together with students.
Biology isn't just some other "subject" that you need to study to get through high school; it is the science of life itself!
Biology is the study of what make a falcon fly, a caterpillar turn into a butterfly, or how bees communicate. After many years of working in research I began lecturing on raptors and teaching biology to high school students who study in a home school environment. This has given me the opportunity to work with small groups of students while giving them individual attention to help them through topics that may be difficult to understand.
My goal is not only to help you excel in biology but also to develop an inquiring mind, the patience to look at nature carefully, and fully appreciate the compexity of this wonderful world we are a part of. I am always easy to reach and available to help you. Feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions or would like to schedule a lesson." less...
