"I received my Master's in English Literature and Composition with Departmental and University honors (Cum Laude) and have been an English an Humanities instructor for over twenty years. Currently, I am and instructor at a Community College teaching courses in English and the Humanities. I have an extensive background in education and over two decades of experience in teaching English, and Humanities courses at the Middle/High school and University levels.

I bring a strong commitment to fostering creativity, progressive pedagogy and curiosity into my tutorials, with a specific focus in honing the necessary skills and strategies that students will need to find academic success. My teaching experience is both deep and broad, and includes extensive experience with students with diverse needs, backgrounds, and abilities.

Throughout my years teaching and tutoring, I have always held the view that if you “want to teach a mind, you have to have a mind to teach.”

Well, I have always had the “mind” to teach and believe that everyone can learn. If there is one concise characterization of my approach and philosophy of education, it is as old as Horace’s declaration to “teach through delight” and, indeed, that is my philosophy and approach. Above all, my passion for teaching is fueled by my desire to see students succeed and grow.

Besides a strong content knowledge in Literature/Composition(BA, MA), and extensive experience in teaching English at all levels (6-12, College) and aspects of English Language Arts (Literature, Reading, Grammar, Vocabulary, Composition), I possess a genuine love for teaching students. I believe that students learn in different ways, and that the first step is unlocking that specific and individual learning capacity. I believe in making the study of English enjoyable, relevant and applicable to my students' lives.
