"Hello students... I have been teaching for over 30 years. I especially enjoy introducing you to the world of reading and writing. To learn to express yourself is very important, especially in the times in which we live. To learn by "doing" is at the top of my list. Literacy is a high point in my life and the life of my students. I especially enjoy one to one interaction with you so that I can pay careful attention to your learning needs. I am also an artistic thinker and I feel that teaching and learning should be fun and not a task. I also teach through the senses which means that I am a multi-sensory teacher and that I use all of the available senses to convey information regarding the world of books and learning. Although I enjoy the technology, I still feel that relating to real books and actual writing on paper is very important. I am a "hands on" educator. I am also a story teller and I employ the use of humor in my teaching.

I am a writer and have been a columnist for over 15 years with a local paper. I employ the use of adjectives in my writing such that the reader of my stories can literally feel the words jump off the page. You will enjoy my writing style, since I will use this during my tutoring sessions with you.

I will especially enjoy working with you if you are a younger student, ages preschool to 5th grade. Because I tap into the world of story telling and humor, this will help you grab onto the opportunity to learn vital concepts as stories move forward.

I have worked with blind and visually impaired children and students for over 35 years, in many different kinds of settings: public schools and private schools for the blind. I have also created products for this population which have been helpful to children who have difficulty paying attention and staying on task.
