"Hello, I am currently a third year honors student of The University of Texas at Austin. I am a candidate for a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Sciences.
Academic success is not necessarily hard or tedious. But in order to do it efficiently, it does require a bit of diligent work, a good sense of time management, a lot of focus and a little bit of a push in the right direction. I strongly believe that with the right motivation and knowledge, any student can learn to expect academic success from themselves. My goal is, in addition to teaching the students the material, imbue them with a love of learning and life skills in order to learn efficiently and independently.
My experience with teaching has been extensive. In my first year as a University student, I was given the opportunity to TA for a Professor teaching Business Calculus I and II. This allowed me to hold office hours where I had review sessions and oneonone discussion of class material with many students my senior.
My second year has seen me starting my own tutoring business in Austin during the school semester where I tutor for College Level classes that I have taken as well as prepare candidates for the Society of Actuaries and Casualty Actuaries Society preliminary exams. The exams consisted of the application of advanced mathematical concepts into the fields of insurance, finance, and probability modeling. The classes I tutored consisted of College Algebra, Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra and Matrix Theory, Statistics, Financial Mathematics, Discrete Mathematics, Financial and Managerial Accounting, Corporate Finance, and many more.
In my third year I joined a privately held tutoring contracting company in Austin, TX where I worked part time during the school year. This allowed for me to have exposure to clientele from all ages (K12) and has allowed me to tutor them in many different grade subjects. (History, English, Mathematics, Sciences, ett.)" less...
