"Hello parents and students!

My name is Julie and I am a U of M certified and experienced teacher. From the time I was a young child my goal was to be a teacher, and I reached that goal and have been teaching and tutoring for many years. I earned my degree in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan in 2001. Since then I have taught (in the Bloomfield Hills, West Bloomfield, and Walled Lake School Districts) and tutored children in grades PreK through 8th.

I absolutely love tutoring and teaching children. My favorite part of teaching is when the student grasps a concept and has that "AH HA" moment when they figure something out that they may have been struggling with. I am very conscientious, have patience, and I am kind. I motivate my students, and encourage them to do their very best. Not all students learn same way, so it is important to figure what works for each child. I look forward to helping your child become a star student!

I am an excellent math tutor because i have good knowledge and understanding of math, which is obviously necessary. I am good at motivating my students and keeping them engaged in their learning. I am also a lifelong learner, so i like to keep up to date on the latest teaching strategies.

I am an excellent English tutor because I have wonderful communication skills, both verbal and written. I like to tutor English in a way that can relate to the student's life and interests. I am caring, understanding, and like to make learning fun!

Phonics is so important when children are learning to read. i make learning phonics fun, which my students love, and keeps them engaged. I teach the skills and help children practice, because practice is an essential part of learning phonics and learning to read.
