"Hi there, my name is Trish! In undergrad, I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Creative writing. In graduate school, I graduated with a Master's degree in Creative Writing - Writing for Children and Young Adults. In college, I learned how difficult it was to write an essay with in-depth analyses and an effective thesis. It was especially difficult to learn when transitioning from high school to undergrad. I began improving my writing when I asked my older sister and professor for help. They provided helpful examples and feedback on my essays, even guiding me through my work. I learned a lot from them, and even today I still follow their advice. Additionally, I took an extra writing workshop in a political science class, and the instructor provided a helpful structure that helped me further organize my essays and develop my ideas. Throughout undergrad, I always asked my professors, teaching assistants, and sister for feedback on my essays. I could not have learned any of those strategies during class. I needed the extra help in order to learn more. Now, I take my experiences and lessons from undergrad and use them to help students. I learned so much from asking for help, and now I want to be the one to help others.

In 2017, my supervisors awarded me the Outstanding Tutor Award. In grad school, I continued tutoring students in improving their writing abilities and enhancing their critical thinking skills. Furthermore, I taught students grammatical rules by first explaining the rul" less...
