I have been in business management for over 20 years. I started running a register in my teens and worked my way up to have over 40 stores. I understand all aspects of business from manufacturing to retail. I received my bachelors degree in business from University of Mount Olive. I followed that up with a masters degree in business and human resources from Central Michigan University. I then went on to achieve a post graduate degree (EdS.) from Liberty University in teaching and curriculum. With my experience in business I offer practical knowledge as well as theoretical applications due to my education. With my years in business I have given many speeches. I teach on how to develop and research the topic. I then concentrate on the public speaking element. Public speaking involves researching the topic and then developing a plan on how to deliver the message. Once those two have been completed I can show how to deliver the message. Each part of public speaking is important and must be experienced to understand how they work. In my classroom I not only teach business I teach public speaking because you have to know how to speak to get your point of view across to others.

Career development is a tricky topic. I teach students to find a career in which you want to develop. Picking a career you are not interested in will hinder your development. I find that many students enter into careers that they feel are good careers but ones that they really have not interest in. By doing this they are entering into a life they will not enjoy. Students need to enjoy the career they are going to enter. Once they find the career then developing them is easy because of their excitement and interest in what they are doing. I have developed many people in the business world using this method. Many have gone on to be successful in the business community.
