"I have been teaching for over 12 years. When I first came to this country, I did not speak English. However, I had someone who helped me to navigate though the process. Therefore, I did not have to sink or swim meaning I did not have to figure it out on my own. I speak English fluently now because I had someone who cared enough to take her Time to tutor me. Her name was Ms. Carol; she tutored me for about three years; even though, I have not seen her since High School, I still remember what she did for me.

After I graduated with a social science degree from Florida Atlantic University, I returned the favor by teaching students who did not speak English. This program is known as ESOL. Students who speak other languages always have good rapport with me because I can relate to them. I speak English, French, and Creole; I am also learning how to speak Spanish. Beside ESOL, I taught Social Studies, Reading, and writing. I love working with students. I did not teach college students, but occasionally I worked with adults also.
