"I am Eugenio, born and raised in Brescia, Italy and living in Philadelphia for almost 7 years now. I am a very easy-going guy that loves to cook (Italian food, obviously) and travelling. I learned English in middle school and high school in Italy but I did not have the chance to practice it that much until I moved to the States. Once here, I realized that the English I had learnt (mostly from non-native English speakers) needed to be improved upon and decided to take some tutoring lessons from native English speakers. That is how I got introduced to the tutoring business. The last couple of years have been full of learning new things and also, re-learning what I thought I had learnt in the past. Also, these last couple of years I have appreciated the importance of learning a language from native speakers. So here is when my sales pitch comes: I am a native Italian speaker and I think I can help you practice and improve your Italian.

Since I am just starting to provide tutoring lessons, my teaching approach consists in conversing with the student on a previously agreed-upon topic. We would when review new vocabulary and pronunciation as well as salient grammar structures introduced in the conversation. The lesson can also be based on a written article from an Italian book/magazine/newspaper or a recording. I believe that students enhance their chances of learning another language by practicing their language skills on topics in which they are interested in; thus, the student is free to select the topic of the conversation or article to be discussed in the class.

I do not have a background in linguistics (actually, I come from the opposite side of the spectrum: I studied accounting and worked in sales for around 20 years), however, I have practical experience learning languages (in addition to English, I speak Spanish) that I believe can be transferred to my students.
