"Hi there! I'm Zara, a recent college grad of Columbia University. My GPA at Columbia was nearly perfect--3.9/4.0--with a rigorous coursework load that included classes in physics, music (music theory & composition), philosophy, and anthropology. I not only love to learn, but also love helping others succeeding in learning and beyond!
I also have experience helping students get into the best universities on the planet! I do SAT/ACT tutoring, essay proofreading/editing, and can help you succeed in high school academic coursework. Specifically, I tutor Latin (including AP Level), Math (Geometry, Algebra I), Physics (including AP), English (any level of grammar, essay writing including AP), History (including AP), and Music Theory. I am happy to also teach you totally from scratch if you are interested in learning! I also teach music lessons in music composition, music production (using Logic Pro X software), and songwriting. All of these can be learned through Wyzant's awesome online teaching portal, but if you live in my area I am also available to teach in-person piano lessons on my baby grand Steinway!
I scored near perfect scores on SAT Math (790) and ACT Math (35). I earned admittance to top Ivy-league schools. If you work hard with me, I will show you my method that is entirely learnable, practicable, and achievable. Our lessons will contain handouts/notes customized for you and I will assign homework that is customized to your weak points so you can succeed at an accelerated pace!
Further, I have studied music theory and music production at the graduate level at McGill University. I have experience making digital music / "tracks" in Logic Pro X. I also am trained in Western classical music, so can teach you all the neat and useful knowledge music theory has to offer: counterpoint, harmony, ear training, score analysis...you name it! I am also a pianist, but only teach piano in-person." less...
