"Music is life. It shares the same qualities of life. There are times of great rewards of happiness and then there are times of sorrows. Music can portray the actions of what happens in life. Music can provide an individual with the tools of freedom of expression. Therefore through music a student can have an outlet for the ability to express his or her true feelings of life. It can be beneficial, a way to help students with the stresses of living, an attempt to make their life successful no matter what they decide to do. I plan to provide a curriculum of music that will help students through life. Through my actions as a music teacher, I want to provide these musical tools that will encourage the students with the use of a nonverbal communicative language. With this language, a student’s learning ability will increase both expressively and cognitively helping with creativity and the understanding of other subjects. Overall I want to facilitate a program that will encourage students to be successful in any direction they choose. It is to my definite attention that some people like music and some just do not want to be involved with it. I have a full understanding that one might not be interested. It is not my position to make others love or even like music. It is my hope to provide and encourage the knowledge of music and the ways it can be used in life.

I have taught teach music as a middle school general music teacher, a high school band director, an elementary band director, community band director, drum corps. horn instructor, college pep band instructor, and for many years privately.
