I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Development.

I am a State Certified Elementary Teacher in grades K-5, committed to maintaining high standards of education with emphasis on developing reading skills with students. I currently teach in a K-2 multi-grade classroom. The subjects I enjoy teaching are, reading, phonics, writing, and spelling.

The use of strong motivational strategies encourages independent learning and allows students to have high expectations for achievement. Reading development begins well before a student enters school and will continue throughout a person’s school career and beyond.

The many years of teaching experience has allowed me to understand student’s reading development. I can assess individual progress and relate reading instruction to a student’s previous experience. A plan is then developed using a variety of ways to teach reading which can be tailored to the individual student’s learning needs." less...
