"I grew up in McAlester, Oklahoma where I excelled in the classroom as well as athletics. I graduated in the top 5% of my class and I was awarded achievements in the National Honor Society, Superintendent's Honor Roll, All-District and All-State honorable mention in football, All-Conference, All-Regional, and All-State in track and field. I volunteered my time as a Public Relations Officer for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the school S.W.A.T. team (students working against tobacco), and in YoungLife Christian youth group as a leader. I also tutored 5th and 6th graders in math.

Upon graduating from McAlester High School, I attended Missouri Southern State University on a track and field scholarship where I continued my success in the classroom and athletics. I received honors in the Commissioner's Honor Roll all four years, All-Conference in track and field seven times, and was an All-American in track and field. During my attendance at MSSU I majored in Business Administration and earned minors in Spanish and Human Resources. I also volunteered my time as a Public Relations Officer for the school Spanish Club for two years and helped tutor freshman with beginning Spanish.

I spent three years studying Spanish at MSSU and fully immersed myself in the Spanish culture by studying abroad in Ecuador for four weeks.

I grew up playing basketball, soccer, and running and still love it to this day. My real expertise is in track and field and I was most successful in hurdles, sprints, and middle distance in college at the Division 2 level. Throughout college I continued my love for basketball and soccer by being involved in the school Intramural sports.

My love for sports encouraged me to learn about fitness and nutrition. Fitness and nutrition, along with adequate sleep, are of the utmost importance in living a healthy life and staying mentally sharp. You must take a long term approach to become properly fit and healthy.
