"Hello! My name is Colette and I am currently a PhD candidate in Linguistics! I have taught Spanish for the past 11 years, everything from pre-k Spanish - to 4th semester of college. In the past two years I have also started to teach basic Mandarin. My linguistic research uses 3D/4D ultrasound to look at how we produce speech so I am also knowledgeable in anatomy, linguistics, and acoustics! I'm looking forward to working with you!

My undergraduate degrees were in Linguistics and Psychology. I worked in a few research labs and some of that research contributed to the DSM-5. As a graduate student I have studied anatomy extensively, particularly as it pertains to the vocal tract and speech.

I have studied abroad in Argentina and been fluent in Spanish since I was 14. I started teaching Spanish as a tutor and a camp counselor at 16 and haven't stopped! I began teaching Chinese within the last two years and can help with pronunciation, character writing, and grammar.

As a PhD candidate, writing is a huge part of research! I can help students think through the flow of a piece of writing and work on grammar.
