"Hi! I'm Jon, and I am a full-time tutor who specializes in helping students with standardized tests, homework, and college application essays. In 2009, I graduated from Bates College with a degree in political science, and I started my teaching career when I joined The Princeton Review. I earned a perfect score on the SAT while applying to TPR, and during my time at that company, I helped over 500 students prepare for the SAT through group instruction and one-on-one tutoring. After a few years at TPR, I became an independent tutor who has built a reputation for showing students how to ace the SAT, ACT, ISEE, and SSAT, as well as for tutoring students who have improved in order to get A's on their algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and writing assignments for school.

I have worked with a very wide range of students, ranging from eight-year-olds to adults. High-flying students determined to get a perfect score or a nearly perfect score on a standardized test; students struggling with dyslexia, ADHD, or testing-anxiety; students who are very smart but who need to improve their motivation and executive functioning skills - I have successfully tutored all of them.

I tailor the tutoring process to the goals and needs of the individual student. Everything from the materials that we use, to the way that I present new concepts, to the way that I help a student ingrain what we've gone over, to how long the lessons are, is calibrated based on what's best for the particular student.

My students, after significantly improving their scores, have chosen to attend schools that include the following ones: Brown, Cornell, Columbia, Dartmouth, Penn, Yale, University of Chicago, Vanderbilt, Williams, Yeshiva University honors, Horace Mann, Hotchkiss, Middlesex, Johns Hopkins graduate school, and Bronx Science.
