"Hi, my name is Ward! I recently graduated with a master's degree in Classics with a focus in ancient Greek from Columbia University, but before that, I received my bachelor's degree with honors from Wesleyan University. I have always loved to learn, and I have been incredibly fortunate to have had teachers and institutions that facilitated that passion.

In turn, I want to impart that enthusiasm for learning to other students in my approach to tutoring. I believe strongly in supporting each student's specific needs and acting as a supplemental or primary resource with a tailored approach to your individual concerns. To that end, I am happy to work with students on anything from achieving long-term goals to a one-off session to prepare you for that big exam. I am a flexible teacher with experience with many different age groups, and have a breadth of experience with research, academic writing, test preparation, and translation, and I can impart these skills as they relate to your relevant projects. But most of all, I want to ensure that students walk away from these tutoring sessions with a deeper appreciation and enjoyment for their learning.

My masters and undergraduate degrees in classics have spanned a wide range of coursework and research, particularly relating to the history, archaeology, art, and literature of the classical world. In addition to my years of Latin language learning, I have also studied ancient Greek for 5 years, which was the primary focus of my masters thesis research. In the course of my studies, I've written plays, two honors theses, and countless academic research papers; additionally, I was a writing tutor while at Wesleyan University. This experience in writing and editing allows me to effectively work with students on their papers and projects, analytical or creative.
