This year, my individual students received too many A's to count in the Jericho and Syosset districts.
Three of my students qualified for the ultra-exclusive Institute of Creative Problem Solving G&T program.
My second-best student came in 7th place in the State of New York on the AMC10 exam.
My best student, my son, is featured in the video. He started algebra at age 5 and calculus at 7!
In high school I captained my math team to the New England Championship. I also successfully competed in numerous other scholastic math competitions - most notably on a national level in the American Regions Math League where I was twice the high scoring medalist for my team.
I graduated early from UPenn with degrees in math and economics and a few graduate credits, but departed academia to trade financial derivatives.
I've been helping/coaching/tutoring people with math, statistics, economics, option modeling for over 20 years. Recently, in the course of home educating my own children, my love of pure math reignited.
Now I teach math one-on-one every single day and I teach competitive math classes year-round. I have my own unorthodox methodologies, I make my own problem sets, I'm developing my own comprehensive educational website, etc. I am most certainly NOT to be compared with a typical "state-certified" math teacher experienced in 1-on-25 instruction.
As you might infer, I'm pretty intense and serious about the business of math. I can help anyone, of any ability, anywhere on the spectrum from counting up through calculus. Tutors are not just for students falling behind - they are also for the gifted kids whose progress has been stunted by group learning environments.
Groups of 2 or 3 are fine. English is my first and only language." less...
