"I graduated from UCSD majoring in Psychology with emphasis in Neuropsychology and Minored in Math with emphasis in Statistics and Probability. I received A's in a majority of math classes including Calculus (A,B, and C series), Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Vector Calculus, Statistics, and Probability. I also received a Master's in Professional Behavior Analysis from Florida Institute of Technology.

My tutoring experience includes a total of 317 hours logged through Wyzant plus countless hours I have spent helping fellow classmates. I enjoy helping others succeed because I appreciate the effort it takes to increase one's skills and understanding of a subject that is difficult. I use to be a poor math student as well, until someone took the time to explain it another way to me until finally it clicked.

I also use to work as a Registered Behavioral Technician working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I would work one-on-one with a few kids everyday teaching them developmental and educational skills relevant to the education level they were at. My experience working with this population has lead me to value specific skills such as patience, structure, and a understanding that a child can learn anything as long as the teacher identifies the best way to communicate and motivate them.

My tutoring style is committed, patient, and thorough. I believe that it is not always the student's fault for their lack of understanding and/or confusion. With a classroom of 30+ students it can be difficult for a teacher to sufficiently explain a topic to so many students who possess various ways of understanding. All it takes is getting to know the child well enough to help guide them through the subject allowing them to come to their own means of looking at the problem in order to solve it successfully and eventually independently." less...
