"I am a 51 year old energetic and fun loving grandfather of 7 who loves to teach. My wife and I reside in Camp Verde, Arizona. I have an extensive career history as a past paramedic, firefighter, 911 supervisor, airline captain and 5th grade elementary school teacher. I was an instructor in each of these careers and still hold a valid flight instructor certificate and Arizona Elementary Education teaching certificate. I enjoy teaching and tutoring in all levels of math from elementary to high school, as well as science, aviation (flight ground instruction) and Biblical studies.

Math, science, aviation, history and Biblical history have always been strong subjects for me. They have been favorite subjects of mine since childhood and I have found my skills in math and science to be vital skills in every career I have held! I have taught extensively in the elementary setting, working to find creative ways of bringing understanding of the concepts to students of varying capabilities of understanding from a wide range of backgrounds. It is exciting and fun to teach and I really enjoy passing that enjoyment on to my students!

Homeschooling is a challenging undertaking. I homeschooled my two youngest children for their 8th grade school years and found it to be a rewarding experience. My experience with this as well as tutoring and mentoring homeschooling parents and students as well as my experience in teaching 5th grade in the classroom gives me an edge in being able to help with bringing the needed structure to the homeschool environment.

I have an extensive career history but the underlying theme throughout is teaching: I have always been a teacher in every career I have held. I have always enjoyed teaching and, though I am no longer in the classroom full time, am happy to help you with your learning needs.
