"Hi, I'm Aaron. I'm a mathematics PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin, where I am working on pursuing my dream of someday becoming a math professor. I did my undergrad at the University of Maryland, College Park, where I graduated cum laude with a BS in mathematics (with high honors), and a minor in philosophy.
I have been running my own private tutoring business since my sophomore year of college, though my passion for teaching began years prior. At Montgomery Blair High School, I would often spend my lunch periods in the math/science magnet program help rooms, talking to younger students about math or physics problems. From there, it became a regular occurrence that I would help my friends with their math issues whenever they got stuck, and eventually grew into this business.
Beyond my experience as a private tutor, I also have exposure to teaching in a classroom setting. At UMD, I student-taught a math course in 3 different semesters and served as a teaching assistant for introductory Calculus I and II during my senior year. I will also be a teaching assistant for most of my semesters at UT.
I consider myself to be an expert in any high school or lower-level undergraduate math. I have also tutored many more advanced subjects (such as real analysis, abstract algebra, topology) at the undergraduate and graduate level. For more information regarding my expertise for particular advanced topics, reach out to me.
Past students have consistently praised my ability to break down difficult problems into manageable pieces. For students struggling to grasp concepts, I help by making problems easy to understand and concrete before tackling complex, abstract ideas. I am patient, understanding, and truly want to see students thrive. My approach to teaching has instilled greater confidence in my students regarding their ability to understand and solve difficult problems, and I am confident I can help any student find success. Feel free to contact me for more information or to set up a tutoring session." less...
