"I have been tutoring/teaching students math for the past 15 years. I have taught elementary through Calculus II math.

I enjoy the one-on-one tutoring and love to help people succeed. I try to make it fun and get to know how the person learns. I try to find out their interests to relate the problems to what they enjoy. Most word problems will start with their name. I try to explain concepts and ensure that they know how to solve the problems. When studying for tests, I try to cover all possible angles of concepts that may be asked on quizzes or tests for that concepts. While I do try to make the work interesting, I do take it seriously and do not allow the student to get away with playing, not paying attention or just getting the answers. I want them to learn it. I have been told by two separate parents of my students that I am well worth the hourly rate.

I enjoy working with both children and adults and like to see them succeed. It is very rewarding to see the smile on their faces when they tell me their grades. I even had one of my students call me to tell me that she was accepted into college and just wanted me to know. She was very proud of herself.

I try to be patient and encouraging. Math is easy and can be fun. Each student learns differently and I try to teach to the way the student learns. I try to make it interesting and fun. I have been thanked by many students for giving them the feeling that they can now "do" math. One student was very pleased that she could now "blow away" her older sister in math.
