"Over the past few years, I have helped numerous math students raise failing grades to A's, tackling everything from basic arithmetic to advanced calculus. Factoring problems? I'm your man. Don't understand congruence proofs? I can help. Over-intimidated by trigonometric identities? I've got you covered.

Over the past few years, I have helped numerous math students raise failing grades to A's, tackling everything from basic arithmetic to advanced calculus. Factoring problems? I'm your man. Don't understand congruence proofs? I can help. Over-intimidated by trigonometric identities? I've got you covered.
I always try to help my students understand new concepts in terms of those with which they are already familiar. I patiently break down new formulas and processes until they look like familiar ones. I observe their current problem-solving strategies to figure out their weaknesses and train them to discover the best practices that work for them. No two students learn the same way, and I try to individually prepare all my sessions to best suit each student.
Additionally, I'm well-versed in the entire gamut of standardized tests (including SAT, ACT, PSAT, SSAT, and ISEE), ever-ready with practice for content review and multiple-choice strategies. Previous success stories include a client who got an 800 on the reading portion of the SAT and another who scored a 35 on the math section of the ACT.
Before becoming a professional nerd, I obtained my bachelor's degree in media studies with minors in English and philosophy from Vassar College. Previously, I have worked as a journalist and a marketer—backgrounds that strengthened my grammar skills and made me an adept writing instructor to boot. As a result, I can help you with any tutoring request in the humanities." less...
