"Hello! My name is Vernon. I am a writing student at the University of Southern Maine working towards my Master's degree in creative fiction writing. I'm eager to pass along to my students the love I have for the craft and for the English language.

I am a strong believer in the fundamentals. Mastery of writing cannot be achieved until the language is mastered first. In my tutoring, I put a strong emphasis on close line editing to make sure that there isn't a comma out of place. Clarity is the most important aspect of writing, and proper grammar and syntax is the first step to clarity!

As I mentioned, I am a graduate student in creative writing, so I have a level of expertise that I am happy to share with my students. Beyond that, I have a true passion for not only English as a language, but learning and teaching generally. I want to foster in my students the same love of learning and language that I have.
