"During high school, math was my favorite subject. I enjoyed the precision and methodology that went into solving each math problem. My love of math, as well as physical sciences, led me to pursue a degree in electrical engineering with a minor in mathematics. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Washington in Seattle. I subsequently had a successful career in the high-tech sector. However, I longed to do something where I felt that I was truly helping people and contributing to the good of our society.

Recently, I took the opportunity to take some extended time off from work to travel with my wife and 2 children, ages 14 and 10. During this time, much of my focus was on homeschooling my kids. I found that helping them learn and motivating them to be hard-working and disciplined was often challenging, but also extremely rewarding. As our travels ended and I reflected on what path I wanted my career to take, I recalled my love of math, my desire to give back, and my enjoyment of celebrating educational accomplishments with my children. Considering these 3 factors, I decided to pursue a career in teaching math.

I am an experienced middle school math teacher. My mission is to provide a welcoming, empowering, and safe learning environment, foster a growth mindset, and enable students to develop an appreciation of math and its usefulness in the real world/daily life.
