I was born and raised in Munich, Germany. I am fluent in German and English. I moved to the United States in 1983 with my family. I worked as a chief flight attendant for Lufthansa Airlines for many years. When I became a mother I earned my certification as a Montessori teacher in 2006 and have been teaching my students at a local Montessori school the German language with fun songs (I play the piano) and simple games and interesting books. It is important to me to make the whole learning process a positive and fun experience for my students. My young students often do not realize that they are learning and improving their German language skills greatly because they are having so much fun doing it. I want them to be excited to come to class. I love interacting with children. I have been working with many children from the young age of 5/6 years up to high school teens and college students. Of course I also have been tutoring many adults in German. I want to customize my lessons to my students interests and goals. I can offer several adult conversational programs - I like to teach important phrases, we will cover grammar as well, however my emphasis will be on phrases and sentences and on the correct pronunciation. A native speaker will be able to guide and support the students and show the correct pronunciation as the German people really do communicate with each other. It is often different than you would find German being taught in books or schools. I also offer classes for advanced German students, one of my students favorite program is the idiom/proverbs course, where my students will learn the meaning behind idioms/sayings/phrases by reading fun short stories and followed with short text comprehension/grammar and vocabulary quizzes. I also offer Business German courses and many other advanced German classes.
