"Hello future nurses! I entered the profession with a BSN in 1978, spent 25 years at the bedside, primarily in adult ICU settings, but with a wide variety of other assignments over the years, got a law degree and practiced for 8 years doing medical malpractice and medical products liability work, then moved into teaching.

I have been teaching undergraduate nursing students since 2006 and NCLEX prep courses since 2008. I love teaching and I love helping students understand the complex material nurses are required to master! I've been teaching NCLEX prep courses for Kaplan, but sadly am no longer able to travel so I have moved online. I look forward to helping you reach your goals. Go nurses! Hooray healthcare heroes!

Teaching nursing requires making sure the student understands the math calculations and conversions used in the profession, the basics of Anatomy & Physiology, the intricacies and dangers of medication administration and pharmacology, and the use of Critical Thinking when making professional decisions. A solid grounding in every area is necessary to pass the NCLEX licensure examination and an instructor who is well versed in what the licensing authorities are looking for can help students fill gaps in their preparation for the exam.

I am proud to say that I was named the Kaplan 2015 Teacher of the Year in the Southern Region. Yay! I have twelve years of experience teaching NCLEX preparation classes for them and other schools.

My students tell me I have a knack for making complex topics understandable and that they achieve success when they are in my classes. This warms my heart since that is what I love to do. I'm looking forward to helping you assess your current strengths and needs, create a plan to fill in any gaps and polish the preparation you've already done, and face the challenges that await you with confidence. Please contact me to set up an intake session so we may identify what you would like to accomplish. I’m looking forward to meeting you!" less...
