"Dear clients and prospective clients, my background covers a wide array of subjects related to Economics. I have tutored for over 25 years; I love this as well as mentoring. I enjoy developing relationships; I love to learn and continue to do so through tutoring. My approach is based on ascertaining your strengths & building upon these. Utilizing relatable analogies, personalizes learning. I usually can help you even when you feel overwhelmed. Repeat business and referrals make up the core of my business. I value when students feel comfortable to utilize me several times and on a variety of subjects. I average much more than 10 hours of tutoring, per client.
In teaching, our goal is to make thinking visible; I make difficult material understandable. I work with both children and adults; there are often several methods to learn the same task. I find that we can learn by asking questions and looking at practical examples. My goal with working with you is that you like the approach that we develop together, that you achieve the results that you are seeking and and then hopefully you want to give me a positive referral, as a result.
I earned an Economics BA, with concentrations in Math and Stats, from Rutgers; an MBA in Finance & International Business from NYU's Stern School of Business and Financial Risk Management certification. The FRM has a rigorous testing process. I became a much better student as an adult. I was able to do this by becoming more organized, so I can help with this process, as well, and especially for those where this does not come naturally. In 2019, I changed careers when the NYC Teaching Fellows selected me to join their program. Previously I had been in Finance as a portfolio manager & department head. I am completing a Masters in Education at Hunter College. Currently, I teach middle school special education. Many of these processes have not been seamless; I have had to do many things to go outside my comfort zone.
