"My love of teaching and tutoring spans over 40 years. I have not only taught on all levels, K-college, but also served as District-wide Social Studies Chairperson. Relative to Advanced Placement, I have extensive experience in AP World, European, and U.S. History. Additionally, I was the secondary Gifted & Talented Facilitator and part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. Working with students on a 1:1 or in a small group setting allows for customizing instruction and maximizing success. While content is very important, students need to strengthen their comprehension by improving their reading, writing, note taking, and study skills. Every tutoring session/lesson will use some or all of these skills to drive the content and insure understanding.

As a teacher, I was commissioned to write various study skills materials for district-wide use.

I have not only taught all history courses, but was also a district-wide administrator. I brought the AP World History course to my school district. Additionally, I was the Past- President for the New York State Council for the Social Studies. My students always excelled on AP exams as well as state testing. Additionally, I was a Fulbright recipient several times resulting in studying in numerous countries around the world.
