"My name is Cole, and my specialty is in English language arts. As a bit of background, I am 18 years of age and am currently a Junior at the University of Florida. To get to this point, I skipped three years of schooling and along the way consistently received perfect scores on the FSA writing and reading assessments. As a philosophy major looking to go into law school, I spend a lot of my time writing papers. I know exactly what teachers look for in papers and know exactly how to help others make their writing stand out amongst the class. I enjoy seeing my students improve quickly and will offer plenty of time for them to practice their writing mechanics with structured shorter responses to sample questions.

I have years of experience proofreading papers and coaching writing. Formally speaking, I spent around 200 hours tutoring middle and high school students through volunteer work. My tutoring strategy is to view prior work to gauge where the student is, and from there I can teach what any writer should generally avoid. Awkward prose, passive voice, repeated vocabulary, and sloppy structuring are points of interest to be fixed in early lessons. My goal is to teach students how to keep their writing organized so that it checks all the boxes teachers are looking for. Once this is established, I can work to teach students how to keep their writing fresh and innovative so that others, namely instructors, enjoy reading their work.
