"An inventor and musician since my youth, I studied math, music and computer science in college, which built a valuable foundation for my future. I have found that a blend of the Arts and Sciences - in my case, music and math, and computer science - gave me technical and conceptual skills one needs to be able to succeed in a wide range of opportunities in the world.
After graduating from Indiana University with a BA, Individualized Major Program in Music and Computer Science, my work experience has encompassed everything from designing laser light effects for film, television, and rock 'n roll shows (including the late Michael Jackson, Madonna and Pink Floyd), to working at Paramount Pictures as a software developer, and becoming a skilled computer graphics professional that allowed my to design computer (video) games for the PlayStation & PC, to later becoming an entrepreneur several times; I designed the first hand-held surgical laser made in China; I also invented MagneBlocks, an award-winning geometrical / educational toy that was carried at Toys 'R Us, Target, and 12 countries, and voted one of the top 10 toys of the year by NBC's "The Today Show".
My professional experience has included the life lessons from working with a wide range of people, with a wide range of abilities. I have taught piano for over 30 years, and in August 2011, I earned my State of CT secondary ed teaching certificate in Mathematics, 029. The state's ARC training program includes state-of-the-art teaching methods to provide the best educational experience for students, while complying with all State and Federal laws.
I am currently working on several books: one is a book on my experience inventing Magneblocks and running an international toy company; one is a book on Re-Thinking the Computer Interface; the other is an instructional philosophy book on the piano. I truly enjoy sharing my love of computing, math, music, and philosophy. I look forward to applying my experience to help you find the best technique that works to emp" less...
