"I have been a writing tutor since 2013. During this period, I have tutored students from middle school through college. Through my instruction, students of various nationalities learn the mechanics of writing (grammar, punctuation, and spelling) as well as critical thinking skills, such as how to write a thesis statement, how to organize an essay, how to capture the interest of the reader, and the difference between writing to inform and writing to persuade.

I earned my TESOL certificate in 2017, and in May 2018 I became an instructor at the Fort Wayne center of ELS Educational Services. I taught there for one year, until the center closed. The center taught English to students from around the world who come to the United States to study at colleges and universities. Lessons focused on writing skills such as grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as organizing and writing essays in a variety of academic formats. I still hear from graduates of the ELS program who have gone on to earn advanced degrees in a variety of subject areas.

In addition to imparting knowledge, I have a passion for encouraging students and helping them to succeed. My commitment to high standards and an informal atmosphere will make our tutoring sessions enjoyable and productive for both of us." less...
