"Hello! My name is Tracy S. and I love teaching and learning. I was a classroom teacher in traditional brick and mortar schools for over 15 years. I have taught at private schools, charter schools and public schools. Last year, I decided to teach online from my home. It's very enjoyable.

Each student I tutor gets a personalized lesson. This means that I teach what the student needs or wants to learn. If a student wants only help with homework, we can do that. Or I can prepare lessons and materials to print out. I try to give my students visuals of things we are learning about. So we may look up photos of pyramids if we are learning about ancient Egypt. Or I may play a short video on a specific topic. I try to keep the learning fun and enjoyable.

I currently teach math for middle school students.

I have a reading endorsement and extra training in reading through the Reading Recovery Council of North America. I was a title 1 small group reading teacher for 4 years. I also taught phonics for 6 years.

I taught phonics for 6 years at a previous job. All students need study and note-taking skills. I like Cornell notes.
