I am Edward! I graduated from Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York with a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 2014. To reach the next level in my career and further strengthen my research skills, I finished my Masters of Science in 2016, and my PhD in Pharmacology at University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) in Rochester, New York in August 2019. My interest in both pharmacology and drug discovery using bioinformatics led to my endeavor of achieving novel cell signaling pathways that can steer the wheel of developing therapeutically means for cancerous diseases. Thus, I learned numerous bioinformatics and data science skills using R and python throughout my Masters and PhD. I have written wide variety of pipeline to analyze various types of data ranging from simple datasets (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq) to single cell sequencing datasets (scDNA, scRNA, scATAC, scDNA+protein).
I have been a data scientist for more than 5 year, and I tailor my sessions to fit your pace and needs. I don't have fixed tutoring plans because I believe in personal learning. I will help you reach your training goals one step a time and achieve your best potential to succeed. I am experienced in analyzing public datasets and human clinical datasets, and mining for significant variables. This requires the proper use of biostatistical tools to distinguish between noise and true significant changes. Additionally, I enjoy presenting my research results in team meetings, conferences, or even an elevator speech. I will show you tricks to make your presentations more efficient, organized, and easy to follow.
Finally, it brings me a lot of joy to help others reach their goals, so I am excited to have the opportunity to help you succeed. I am quick replying to messages so feel free to ask me about any bioinformatics or data science question and I will get back to you quickly. For in-person sessions: I am vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19." less...
