"My name is Cody, and I am a Ph.D. student currently working on writing my dissertation.

For my undergrad, I dual majored in Applied Linguistics, Bible, and I held an interdisciplinary in Koine Greek. I love languages and thinking through how to express ideas, especially in ways that make complicated matters appear approachable and intriguing.

My goal for attaining my Ph.D. is to teach undergraduate students and introduce them to the world of higher education. I love drawing people into the concepts and ideas that I have found most captivating, and I enjoy being challenged by people who think differently than myself.

After my Bachelor's, I completed two Master's degrees (one in the US and one in the UK). I have two daughters under three years old, and I am excellent at tea parties.

I work in the humanities and therefore deal with writing all the time. Sometimes I love writing, and sometimes I hate it, but I am good at it because I do it constantly.

Again, I majored in Applied Linguistics and Bible during my undergrad. Both of these caused me to think through how languages function and how they can be manipulated to communicate well (and not so well!). During this time, I did two internships where I taught English as a second language to students ranging from beginners to moderately advanced. Additionally, Both of my Master's degrees deal extensively with the Protestant Canon.

For my undergraduate degree, I took Greek Grammer I and II, Greek Exegesis I and II, and Advanced Greek reading I (all of which were four credit classed excepted for reading which was only three). In my first Master's degree, I took Advanced Greek Reading II, and in my second Master's I utilized this knowledge throughout my thesis.

I only know Koine Greek and cannot teach Attic or Modern." less...
