"I am a Cincinnati State alumni and have been an active Sign Language interpreter for the deaf and hard of hearing for 10+ years. I continue to mentor current Interpreter Training Program students at CS as well. I have a passion for the Deaf community and I strive to interpret with integrity and encourage equitable communication and interactions between Deaf and hearing consumers. I developed and taught American Sign Language at the high school level for 4 years and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I wholeheartedly believe that the knowledge and skills I possess are a direct result of being a tutor/mentor for so many years. I find that when I give feedback and direction it causes me to rehearse and refine the information given, the mode of feedback that's suitable for each student, and help the student apply the feedback to their work. In essence, both the tutor/mentor and student leave each session enlightened.

Flexibility is part of my makeup so if transportation, cancellation, lesson issues arise we can discuss the issue and decide on the best possible solution for both of us and move forward.

A high rate of success at the high school level and exemplary rapport with the Deaf community and my colleagues makes me strive for excellence in every area of my professional journey.
