My name is J. Rashell and I'm rather new to the tutor field. I completed my degree this past June and was unsure if I could jump straight into a teaching position. I found my love for history with my JROTC teacher in high school and it only grew as I achieved my college degree. I feel that I have great people skills from working in the restaurant industry for years. I have been a trainer at every company that I have worked and was always told that I had a knack for teaching. I am thorough and patient applying detail to each person as they need it. I came across the opportunity to become a tutor and help students who may be having a hard time in a subject that takes a special kind of attention to understand. History is a subject that has to be brought to life by the right person. I hope that I can do that for you. I have a love for history and a desire to help those in need. I love all ages and have an open mind to find what works for you!

As I have explained, I am new to the tutoring field being that I have only recently achieved my degree in history. I have tutored friends and family on a small level and for small amounts of time off and on throughout the years. History is not a subject that necessarily comes naturally to most students. First, I believe that each person learns differently. I would attempt to spend a small amount of discovering the needs of the student and how he/she learns the material best. Second, I prefer to teach history like the interesting and intriguing story that it is. It is a real story that helped blend people into the culture and story we have today. The information is the key and the method of absorption of the material can be deciphered once explained. I like to relate history to current events to help make them more memorable and understandable increasing the student's interest and knowledge.
