"I hold a master’s degree in teaching, been a certified teacher and have enjoyed working with students for over 30 years. I adore elementary students because they get so excited when they finally understand something they have been struggling over. The children I prepare for Kindergarten begin their education with a sound understanding of the basics and a confidence and enjoyment for learning that brings future success. I identify why students are struggling with reading, then teach strategies that help that student. I believe in working and motivating students through positive behavior. My students enjoy their time with me and develop techniques that help them become independent learners.

The reason I became interested in teaching reading is because my daughter is Dyslexic. I was already a teacher, but witnessed the constant struggle to read. In eighth grade she was reading at a fourth grade level and struggling in many classes. I began homeschooling and continued through her high school years. She is now a senior at a major university with over a 3.5 average. I know I can help your child succeed. Time management and study skills are a weak point for many students.
