"As a parent and teacher of students with special needs, I was immersed in the world of understanding how students with learning disabilities learned, and how their specific challenges impacted them in school and everyday life. I have over 11 years experience in the public school sector working with students having varying disabilities including, but not limited to, specific learning disability, ADHD, autism, dyslexia, along with 8 years of tutoring the same. I primarily work with grades K-6 in the areas of Math and Reading to include comprehension and reading vocabulary.

My niche is closing achievement gaps through explicit instruction and focusing on the student's present level of performance as a baseline. I understand that every student is not a "one size fits all."

Over the years, I have helped many students realize their potential with a renewed self-confidence that can sometimes diminish with learning challenges. My colleagues describe me as passionate with an aptitude to effectively teach children with disabilities. As one of many in my field, I was nominated by my colleagues for Special Educator of the Year Award for which I received a certificate of recognition.
