"Since attending Bard College in 2009, I have spent a large amount of time volunteering and teaching. In college I studied abroad in Costa Rica. There I took intensive Spanish coursework and taught English to children. While in my undergraduate institution, I also volunteered with high school youth in Upstate New York, giving extra assistance with homework and mentorship. I found during this early exposure to teaching that it was something that I was passionate about and had a natural skill for. In the last year of college, I met recruiter for the United States Peace Corps that heard me story and felt that I was a perfect fit. I applied and was accepted to be a volunteer in Morocco.

It wasn't until serving in the United States Peace Corps in Morocco that I found a real passion for teaching English. Here I've learned how to teach the language in an interactive and immersive way. As a speaker of other four languages (Arabic [Darija], Tamazight, Spanish and English) I have a grasp on the challenges of language acquisition and I am excited to teach. Over the last two years I've lived in Morocco. Here I spent a large majority of my service teaching English to over 100 of the youth and adults in my community. I look forward to coming back to Atlanta and using my experience and language expertise to teach English in a unique fashion.
