"My love of tutoring comes from a life of helping children learn and watching them soar to great heights. I taught my own children to read, write and perform scientific experiments. Then I got the pleasure of helping their friends through the years. After my children were grown, I had the privilege of working with a Russian orphan who spoke very little English. I helped him to go from a 3rd grade reading level to an 8th grade reading level in a year and a half. By the time we hit the 2 year point he no longer needed ESL or Learning Disabled classes. I have worked with nieces and nephews and I have continued to help children in our area through the years. I have been working with a 3 year old child for the last 6 months and she is starting to read and do math.

I specialize in tutoring English for success in school as well as in life. I assign homework to ensure that the students are understanding what I am tutoring them in. I adjust the level of challenge as the students grow. I try to make learning fun so the children will desire to continue to learn.

I provide periodic assessment and progress reports. I show the students how hard work and dedication can pay off. I take pride in my work and welcome feedback.

To ensure the students have a quiet and comfortable study space in which to work with me, I am able to tutor in my home office. However, I am willing to travel to another location if that is more convenient for the student. I try to be flexible with my time. While I do have a two hour cancellation notice, I do offer makeup sessions. I have a current back ground check available upon request.
