"As a certified math teacher with 15+ years of teaching experience (in-class and online), 10+ years of tutoring experience (in-person and online), prior in-class teaching experience in Cy-Fair ISD, and currently as an online math teacher, I believe that any student can learn and understand math. Those problems that appear complicated are just a series of simple concepts woven together. I deconstruct the problems with my students so they can understand each simple concept within the problem.

Typically, if math is complicated for a student, it's because the method of instruction is complicated. There is a way to teach math that is simple and easy to comprehend to students of any learning style. By teaching in a simple instructional style, my students understand the "why" behind the "do" thus enabling them to retain the information instead of memorizing tricks and gimmicks which lack concrete mathematical principle causing students to lose or never gain that solid mathematical foundation necessary to build upon for later learning.
