"My name is Liz and I love teaching History/Social Studies. My specialty is American History and more specifically the Civil War. I believe a good teacher has an enthusiasm for the subject they are teaching. History is about the times of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Of course, there are dates to remember, but that is a minor component compare to the historical outcomes which continue to influence are world today.

I received my MS Education and am a CT certified Social Studies/History teacher. This past year I worked as a substitute teacher covering grades 5-12 in all content areas. I work with children in the classroom and individually. I believe a tutor has to have a sincere interest not only in the material being taught but a genuine regard for the student being tutored. My method is to first see what works well with the student and then mold my tutoring style around the student's needs.
